Eliora

In the pics above I've worn a black tight skirt with a lacy pink top. I purchased this set  last year for Christmas from an outlet called Eliora in Kamanahalli ( Bangalore). They have a wide range of  trendy clothes elegantly designed for women. Tops, Skirts, Pants, Bridal wear, party dresses - they have it all.

I love the lacy look of the top. It's baby pink in colour. Skirts are also my favourite piece of clothing too. They look smart and graceful and it also depends how one carries the look and wears them.

I paired it with Peep toe shoes and Korean Jewellery. The above look can be worn to a party or even a casual outing.  So that's my outfit post for today. Hope you folks liked it. Catch you soon with some more fashion posts. Till then stay fashionable.

The skirt and top - Eliora

Mac face studio fix powder plus foundation - Product review

Mac studio fix powder plus foundation

I  heard great reviews about the Mac face studio fix powder plus foundation by many friends and family, so I  finally decided  to try it out myself and see if it really lives up to the standard of a good face compact. Fortunately since my birthday was  around the corner, I decided to take the opportunity to ask my hubby to buy the product for me, of course along with the other cosmetics that he promised to buy.

* The first thing that attracted me about the compact was the casing. It was round with a outer black casing.  That looked unique. It has two chambers, one  for the powder and the other to keep the powder puff separately. That's a good idea as the powder puff normally gets messy if it's kept along with the powder. It also gets some air to breathe and dry.

* Now coming to the product , I was totally satisfied by the quality. It is worth    the money.
The face compact has a smooth finishing on applying to the face. That's because it contains foundation too. So after applying on the face, one gets a smooth and a natural flawless look.

* There is no cakiness or layering. Unlike other brands, wherein after applying the powder, one can easily make out the applied layer.  It doesn't look natural and doesn't blend with the skin. In case of Mac, you wouldn't know. It looks natural and not made up.

* Since it contains foundation there are no additional hassles to put an extra layer of foundation. The powder is sufficient. Since it has foundation the face feels hydrated as well.

* I have a sensitive skin. A combination of dry and oily. This compact has blended well with my skin and so far I've not had any allergy reactions , rashes or pimples.

* It lasts long. One does not have to touch up every now and then. The fresh look remains longer.

* It gives a nice matte look.

* It allows the skin to breathe as it keeps the skin hydrated.

* It gives a soft and satin finishing.

* They come in various ranges of colours and shades. So choose a shade that blends well with your skin. I chose NC 40.

* A customer gets a discount on purchasing a new compact and returning the old case. How wonderful is that.

I would recommend Mac face studio fix powder plus foundation to all the women who believe in looking natural even after applying make up.

I hope you  liked the review and would be satisfied with the product.  So go ahead and try it out yourself. It's a nice product to have in your make up kitty.

Dressing right for summer - 2

Kurtis/ Kurthas

To beat the scorching Indian summer heat, most women prefer to adorn the stylish and comfy cotton kurtis with leggings. In my opinion it's the most comfortable, stylish and graceful Indian attire. The best part is you don't have to wear a dupatta. Kurtis can be worn on any occasion. It can be worn to office, for shopping, to a party or to the local grocery shop.

It doesn't require much time to slip them on. It's a matter of  just few minutes. There are a variety of vibrant pure cotton Kurtis/Kurtas along with leggings that can be found in the popular online shopping portals, like Jabong, Myntra and so on.

Cotton leggings are preferred during summer. Avoid synthetic leggings.

Go for cool colours like pastel shades - Aqua blue, shades of pink, lemon, mauve, neon and a lot of whites. Anything that is light. Light colours reflect heat and keep us cool whereas dark colours absorb heat.

Style tips.

 * Kurtas can be worn with Sandals, neon chappals, pretty wedges  and even high heels.

 * They can be teamed up with Junk Jewellery as well as high end Jewellery brands.

* Style them differently with stoles.

* Use colourful handbags and shades to get a summery look.

Dhotis and Jodhpuris

Many of us prefer to wear loose fitting clothes during summer. Thus many women opt for Dhotis and Jodhpuris. They are loose, comfortable and cool. They fall well on slimmer women and give them a fuller Boho look. They are inn this summer. They also give a relaxed and easy-going appearance.

Style Tips

*  Dhotis and jodhpuris can be worn with flats, wedges, sandals, neon chappals and even high heels.
*  They look best with Junk Jewellery.
*  Team them with stylish shades and handbags.

Dressing right for summer - 1

Summer is just around the corner and apart from struggling to beat the heat, many of us also struggle to dress right during this season. We end up wearing clothes that make us feel uncomfortable. Who wants to feel uneasy during  summer ?

During this season, most of us prefer to wear clothes that are cooling and comfortable at the same time. In order to dress right we need to keep in mind the colours, fabric, material and prints.

Go for Floral prints

Floral prints in cool colours are good options for young women. Here's a cool collection of floral printed skirts. Hope you like them.

Zig Zag

Zig Zag prints are bold, bright and capturing. One has to be confident enough to carry out this look. It projects a bold and a funky spirit. They come in various unconventional designs and colours.

In the pic below I've worn a Zig Zag printed legging with a self coloured peach top and a blue scarf. A Zig Zag print is preferably worn with self coloured tops as it tones down the busy look.   Much accessories are not required to wear this look as the bold print  alone is enough to capture one's attention. A black zig zag printed legging can be worn with black boots.

People who are adventurous and bold can sport this look. Many youngsters who are daring  in nature are often seen wearing the Zig Zag print.

Jumpsuit trend

We've seen plenty of  celebrities sporting the jumpsuit on many occasions recently.  Yes, the jumpsuit is in and it's here to stay. This one piece garment can look stunning on women who are tall and average height women can team it up with high heels.

Much accessories are not required to go with a jumpsuit as the whole piece makes up for everything else. But the jumpsuit look can be teamed with a broad dialed watch or a broad hand accessory and a choker.

Check out these celebrities sporting the jumpsuit look. They look fabulous, don't they ?

Forvever New

Welcome to my blog Fashion, Style and you. This is my first blog post, so I've decided to keep it short and simple.

I'm sure you would agree that dresses form an important part of a woman's wardrobe. They are my favourite piece of clothing too. I like the feminine touch it adds to a woman's  personality. The urban modern woman knows the significance of dresses for every occasion. The malls and shopping complexes are flooded with dresses with different styles and designs.

There is no dearth of brands for dresses in the market today. The list is endless. The Forever New brand is one of them. It was created in late 2006 in Melbourne Australia and now it has 250 stores across seven countries. Their dresses are available in array of styles and suitable for different occasions. I love the simple, elegant and classic designs.  Women who pay attention to simplicity and elegance can check their collection  Forever new clothing.

I fancied a few dresses and wanted to share it with you. Hope you all like it.
